Subtitle OCR Studio

Burn an SRT or VTT file into a video

Upload the video and the subtitle file. No text recognition runs: the cues you upload are drawn onto the picture, with the font size you choose and, if you want, a box over subtitles that are already in the video.

How it works

  1. Upload. The video goes up in 8 MB parts; the subtitle file is read in the browser and sent as cues. No OCR runs.
  2. Check. ffmpeg reads the length and size of the video (the length limit applies) and the cues are tidied: sorted, overlaps trimmed, nothing shorter than 0.4 s.
  3. Render. ffmpeg draws the cues with libass (Noto Sans, your font size), after covering a band of the picture with a black box if you asked for one. Audio is copied; video is re-encoded as H.264.
  4. Download. One MP4 per language you render. Pick a translation first if the subtitles should be in another language.

Rendering needs an account; the minutes charged are the length of the video.
