Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Subtitle OCR Studio (subtitles.txscribe.ai), operated by txscribe AI. It shares its accounts, subscription and minutes with txscribe.ai, so txscribe.ai's terms also apply to your account, your subscription and its payments; these add what is particular to this service. By using the service you agree to both.
Your content
You keep all rights to the files you upload and to what is made from them. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to hold your files for the life of the job, to send frames of your video and the text of your subtitles to the processors named in our privacy policy, and to render the video you ask for.
What you may upload
Only videos and subtitle files you have the right to use, translate and change. Putting new subtitles into a video you do not own, or publishing it, can need the rights holder's permission; getting it is your responsibility, not ours.
Accuracy
Subtitles read off a picture and machine translations are produced by automated systems and will contain errors, including ones that change meaning. Check them before you publish or rely on them. The service is provided as is, without warranty.
Files are temporary
This is not a storage service. Everything a job holds is deleted 3 hours after the job is created. Download what you want to keep before then.
Plans and limits
A free account gets 60 minutes of video once, not every month, for files up to 60 minutes long. A video longer than the minutes you have left is processed up to the minutes left. Without an account you can try a file up to 10 minutes long and see the first 3 minutes of the result. Pro is 30 hours a month for files up to 60 minutes long. It is the txscribe.ai subscription, sold and billed by txscribe.ai through Stripe at the price shown at checkout, and it renews until you cancel. Minutes are one allowance with txscribe.ai: what you use here counts there, and the other way round. To keep the service working for everyone, one account or browser can start at most 20 jobs an hour.
Fair use
Do not use the service to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or in a way meant to overload it or get around its limits.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed, and a change that matters to your subscription is also announced as txscribe.ai's terms describe.
